    Creatine is most often used to improve exercise efficiency and increase muscle mass in athletes and elderly individuals. Research studies support the use of creatine for improved athletic performance in young, healthy individuals during short-term intense activity such as sprint. In the United States, creatine is present in most sports nutrition supplements.

  • L-arginine is an amino acid belonging to the pharmacological group of conditionally nonessential amino acids.     For the cardiovascular system, L-arginine helps normalize blood pressure and reduce the formation of atherosclerotic plaques.  In sports, L-arginine contributes to building muscle tissue and improves muscle nutrition. In its L-form, arginine is absorbed faster and creates no discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract.

    Functions

    Arginine stimulates the pituitary gland to release the growth hormone. It enhances the secretion of growth-hormone-releasing-hormone while blocking the action of another hormone, somatostatin, which acts as an inhibitor in the pituitary gland and reduces the synthesis and release of the human growth hormone.

  • Valine is an essential amino acid named after valerian.  It is not synthesized in the body and can only be supplied by food. It is part of many important vital processes. In the body, it is found both as part of proteins and in a free state.

    Application

    Valine is often used to correct amino acid deficiency caused by self-tapering. Too high levels of valine can cause symptoms such as paresthesia (a crawling sensation) and even hallucinations.

    Functions

    An important function of valine is to support glycogenesis, that is the synthesis of glycogen from glucose, to maintain pancreatic, hepatic, and nerve functions. Valine is an essential limiting amino acid for pigs. It is involved in protein synthesis and is a source of energy.

  • L-carnitine is an amino acid, a natural vitamin-like substance that may be said to be related to Vitamin B group in terms of its functionality (but it is not Vitamin B). L-carnitine was discovered in 1905 by Vladimir Gulevich and Robert Krimberg who isolated it from muscle tissue.

    The preparation helps mitigate the adverse effects of the processes resulting from strenuous exercise, enhances endurance, improves the immune system, concentration, memory, fat metabolism and appetite. L-carnitine is recommended for those on a diet and for fat burning.

  • L-Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate 2:1 (AAKG) is a compound of arginine salt and alpha-ketoglutaric acid in a 2:1 ratio. Arginine is used as a sports supplement for muscle gain. It is mainly used by bodybuilders and powerlifters.

    Arginine improves blood supply to muscle tissue by dilating blood vessels; enhances muscle nutrition, increases performance efficiency and recovery rate; removes toxins; normalizes high blood pressure; improves sexual function; and strengthens the immune system.

  • L-Lysine is an essential element of a number of biological processes, including tissue recovery, production of collagen and antibodies. The amino acid is responsible for the synthesis of hormones and enzymes and calcium uptake. It is not produced by the body, but obtained from food or supplements.

    Application

    L-lysine can be recommended as a biologically active dietary supplement for maintaining immune protection and increasing the body’s resistance to viral infections, for maintaining health of the nervous system, stimulating collagen synthesis, improving the condition of the skin, hair and nails, and preventing premature aging.

    Functions

    L-lysine has anti-inflammatory and analgetic properties.   • L-threonine is available as white micro-grained powder. It promotes the growth of skeletal muscles, is part of immune proteins and a number of digestive enzymes, plays the major role in the synthesis of purines and glycine, serves as a source of energy, and regulates feed intake.

    Application

    L-threonine contributes to the synthesis of muscle fibers, collagen and elastin (the main components of connective tissue, being also part of the muscle structure). Threonine is beneficial to the nervous system thanks to its ability to stabilize it and reduce extraexcitation.

    Threonine is involved in the synthesis of collagen and elastin, in protein and fat metabolism, it stimulates the immune system, and supports the hepatic function by preventing liver fat accumulation.

  • L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is part of the proteins of all living beings. In the human body, it is involved in the synthesis of serotonin, “a feel-good chemical”, melatonin,  an antioxidant and sleep hormone, and choline, a nootropic and antidepressant.

    Application

    Tryptophan is recommended for those with increased irritability, depressive or other emotional disorders, and insomnia. In these cases, it is to be taken twice a day, in the morning for better mood and in the evening for relaxation and good sleep.

    Functions

    L-tryptophan is known for being part of the production of serotonin. It is also involved it the production of melatonin, choline, and niacin (vitamin B3). As the body cannot produce it, tryptophan needs to be taken from protein foods or vitamin and dietary supplements.

  • Cysteine is a non-polar amino acid consisting of two disulfide-bridged serine molecules .  It is an important component of many proteins and enzymes. It is involved in various biological processes. A precursor of glutathione, a strong antioxidant.

    Application

    Dietary supplements with L-cysteine. L-cysteine can be recommended as a dietary supplement to enhance antioxidant protection, detoxify the body, improve the condition of the skin, hair and nails, maintain hepatic health, and reduce the likelihood of fatty liver.

    Functions

    L-cysteine supports the liver and lymphocytes in the detoxification of chemicals and toxins. Taking extra cysteine increases the levels of protective enzymes in the body, inhibiting cellular damage processes that occur as the body ages

  • Citrulline is an amino acid that enhances physical endurance. It forms no part of proteins, but has positive effects on the production of arginine. Citrulline helps remove ammonia and urea from the body, which has positive effects on the general well-being.

    Application

    L-Citrulline is an amino acid that is no part of building proteins, but can produce an enormous number of physiological effects. Citrulline is used as a supplement that enhances performance, accelerates recovery, and improves blood supply to muscles.

    Functions

    Citrulline prevents rapid fatigability, muscle weakness and other asthenia symptoms, as it contributes to the decontamination of urea and ammonia, removal of uric acid, lactate and nitrogenous waste.

Dietary supplements

  • Ascorbic acid is a sour white crystalline powder. It is easily soluble in water (1:3.5); slowly soluble in ethanol (1:30), absolute alcohol (1:50), glycerin (1:100), and propylene glycol (1:20). Solubility in water: 80.0% at 100 °C; 40.0% at 45 °C.

    Application

    Ascorbic acid is a strong antioxidant and regenerative agent that participates in bacterial infection control, detoxification reactions, and generation of collagen in fibrous tissue, teeth, connective tissue, skin and capillaries. Vitamin С promotes growth and active functioning of immune cells.

    Functions

    It is involved in production of collagen, serotonin from tryptophan, generation of catecholamines, and synthesis of corticosteroids. Ascorbic acid is also involved in the conversion of cholesterol into bile acids. Vitamin C is necessary for detoxification by cytochrome P450 in hepatocytes.

  • Glucosamine has moderate anti-inflammatory properties; protects a damaged cartilage from destruction caused by painkillers and hormonal preparations; neutralizes the aggressive action of inflammatory enzymes that destroy cartilage tissue; and normalizes the deposition of calcium in bone tissue.

    Application

    Glucosamine and chondroitin are used to treat articular dysfunctions caused by degenerative processes in cartilage tissue, age-related changes, diseases and rigorous exercise.

    Functions

    Glucosamine is a monosaccharide involved in the biochemical synthesis of glycosylated proteins and lipids. It is a component of articular tissue. Glucosamine is necessary for the restoration of cartilage tissue, joints and ligaments.  It is a building component of cartilage tissue.

  • Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a natural sulfur-containing organic substance with anti-inflammatory properties that is particularly effective for damaged joints and as such is often included in joint support supplements.

    Application

    MSM is recommended for athletes to strengthen muscles and tendons. It also helps restore tendon strains and relieves inflammation. It is recommended to take 2 grams (2 scoops) of MSM mixed with 100-200 ml of water two times a day. In some cases, the dosage may be increased to 5 grams per day.

    Functions

    Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an organ sulfur-containing compound that promotes faster recovery of joints and muscles after physical activity and has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-allergenic properties.

  • Chondroitin sulfate is a high-molecular mucopolysaccharide that influences phosphorus and calcium metabolism in cartilage tissue. External application of Chondroitin slows down the progression of osteoarthritis. It normalizes metabolism in hyaline tissue and stimulates regeneration of articular cartilage.

    Application

    Degenerative and dystrophic diseases of joints and spine: primary arthrosis, intervertebral osteochondrosis, osteoarthrosis, osteoporosis, periodontopathy, bone fractures (to accelerate callus formation).

    Functions

    It improves phosphorus and calcium metabolism in cartilage tissue, inhibits enzymes that disrupt the structure and functions of articular cartilage, and inhibits degeneration of cartilage tissue. Chondroitin sulfate promotes the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, normalizes metabolism of hyaline tissue, and promotes the regeneration of cartilage surfaces and the joint capsule.

  • Milk protein concentrate (MPC) is one of the major components of milk. It is an indispensable component of human diet that serves as a building material for cells of the entire body. Its casein to whey protein ratio is 80/20.

    Application

    It is used for sports cocktails for promoting long-term proteolysis.

    Functions

    Athletes drink this kind of cocktails prior to training, during the day (for example, in lieu of one of the meals), and before going to bed. МРС85 supports high levels of free amino acids in the blood for a long period of time, which is necessary for muscle tissue synthesis, recovery during rest, and prevention of catabolism.

  • Whey protein concentrate (WPC) is obtained by drying the concentrate produced by filtering whey (a by-product in the production of hard, semi-hard and soft cheeses). It is characterized by its protein content ( percentage of protein in dry matter) in the range from 35 to 85%.
